Jordan Capital and Investment Fund (JCIF), Jordan’s largest private sector investment fund, invests in promising Jordanian companies that have opportunities for growth and expansion, by providing fresh capital to support a transformational leap in their development.
JCIF was officially launched in 2022 with a committed capital of JOD275 million (USD388 million) via two investment vehicles owned by 16 Jordanian commercial and Islamic banks and is managed by the Jordan Capital and Investment Fund Management Company.
JCIF’s capital is strategically allocated to impact critical junctures of a company’s development and aims to fund specific value accretive projects. These projects may be directed towards international expansion plans, the development of new product lines, funding working capital, expanding existing facilities, fostering vertical and horizontal integrations, among others.
Under certain exceptional circumstances, JCIF’s investment may be utilized to provide liquidity to the current owners and founders and help simplify its shareholding structure. This helps in reducing the complexity of economic claims on a company and significantly optimizes its governance process.
JCIF’s investment strategy is derived from the Fund’s mandate to invest in Jordanian companies that have the capacity to create Employment Opportunities with substantial Export Potential which ultimately impact the Kingdom’s Economic Development.
JCIF’s aim is to diversify its investment portfolio to cover the largest possible number of sectors spanning multiple areas with real competitive advantages with a focus on key investment themes. Most notably are companies operating in the fields of Food & Health Security, Knowledge Economy, and General Manufacturing.
